Awesome!
We are so inspired! What a great blog, Avery!
Over the last 17 years, we’ve learned that real progress doesn’t come from big,
dramatic changes. It comes from building small, consistent habits that create
a thriving, joyful life over time.
This series shares the 8 key areas that made the biggest difference in our autism journey, with real strategies, tips, and workbooks you can use!
We wish more people had shared their journeys back when Avery was diagnosed so we’re sharing ours now, in the hopes that something might help you!
Food Challenges & The Bite Check
The strategy we used to reduce food battles and build confidence around
trying new foods – even for some pickiest eaters. Includes Avery’s Bite Check
method, encouragement strategies, and bite-sized challenges you can build
into everyday life.
Please note: Food is personal, especially with ARFID, allergies or other restrictions. We’re not here to push strategies – just offering what helped us, in case it helps you too.
Supplements & Nutrients That Helped Us
A parent-friendly guide to the supplements and nutrients that supported Avery’s mood, focus, and gut health – and how to figure out what might work best for your child.
Includes product tips, what to ask your doctor, and our daily supplement routine.
Sleep Challenges, Mood Regulation & Calming Strategies
Our favorite calming tools, sensory supports, and nightly routines that helped us transform bedtime from chaos to calm.
Includes practical ideas for better sleep hygiene, regulating moods, and simple calming routines you can actually stick with.
In partnership with other families of neurodivergent teens and adults, we’ve created Neurodivergent Navigators, a nonprofit dedicated to becoming a trusted space for travel and experiences resources shared by and for the neurodivergent community. By highlighting providers and programs available, we empower individuals to embrace new adventures and lead deeply fulfilling lives. Through this initiative, we hope to raise money for families who might not otherwise have the means to explore, find the support they need to see the world and truly thrive.
The Power of Travel & Exposure
How travel (even just to a new grocery store!) helped us build flexibility, confidence,
and resilience.

advocacy.

if full adulthood feels far away right now.
